This was an easy decision to buy! I met the gorgeous Katie of The Painted Nail on Sunday at Premiere Orlando 2013. She was so sweet and adorable. Katie actually was working the booth along with three others but Katie was definitely hands on and down to earth. I was star-strucked...so bad I didn't have the guts to ask for a picture with her. Well while visiting her booth I watched two demos at once. One was nail graphfix over the color flash set and also the quick color flash system. I wanted the pod but instead bought the bigger system and no regrets. All you do is clean prep (dry mani), pick a color apply, cure one coat under the cute light, once the light goes off, it is set/dry. Either its opaque enough if not apply another coat and cure then they are done for sure. No primer no top it's so simple! After purchasing the system I tried our at my hotel room...my husband was shock at how fast my manicure was and he loves that there is no strong smell like regular polish. I won't lie the removing sucks. You buff the shine off apply the remove cream from the tube give it two mins don't let it dry then push it off with the cuticle pusher. It sounds simple yes but I actually had trouble and hate the remover cream but I think I'm still a noob so let's see if we find other
ways to remove. I'm showing pics of the product that I purchased and pedicure that just happened.

My Little Pony Polish from Hot Topic
This set was released at Hot Topic in late 2012. One bottle retailed for $7.50 each. I was lucky enough to get all 4 bottles. These colors are opaque after two coats and dry to a semi gloss finish. The "white" is iridescent, I will swatch with undies next time. All in all I'm happy with the polishes in quality, and quantity.
Polish Haul (My Little Pony & Illamasqua)
Today was awesome! I grabbed two Illamasqua polishes, Scorch & Vice, I want Muse next! Stopped by Hot Topic and ran to the My Little Pony section... it was buy one get one half off so I bought the 4 polishes they released. I've used Illamasqua before but cant wait to try this white/Scorch. Vice is a wine vampy color, I love it. The MLP set has an iridescent white/shimmer, purple, bright blue, and bringt pink. The MLP set did not indicate names though. I want to swatch them all!!

Revlon cupid
Target has awesome sales. I caught their latest one on Revlon Top Speed polishes. I scored Cupid and Cloud for an awesome $2.27 each. Here's a swatch of Cupid two coats with no top coat. It does live up to it's claim of fast drying. Under 5 mins two coats manicure.

Glitter with no base... Oww I'm daring.
Hey y'all! Well today was sort of a lack-of-luster kind of day so I wanted a glitter mani in hopes of a pick-me-up. Here I used no base (crunch on time) I laid my Sation in For Better or Never. This color is a watermelon pink sheer color with holo and blue octagon shaped glitters with small holo round glitters. Application was easy not clumpy at all. I've been fortunate to keep landing fast drying glitter polishes. I did an accent nail on my index finger, I used Sinful colors in Nail Junkie. This color is a teal jelly base with iridescent small round glitters and various shades of teal plays off the small and round holos in there too. I finished off with OPI Top Coat, love it. When I type I smile so mission accomplish!

Rainbow fish inspired manicure
Sick in bed so I am being fed comfort food and watching cartoons. Always during these times I track back to my childhood. Growing up one of my all time love was a book called The Rainbow Fish. Today I was inspired by the little fish from the book so to my canvases I went! I couldn't locate any of my holo polishes at the moment so I used my recent gifts for this look. Avon nailpro in fuchsia, decadence, and lagoon. I also used a Finger Paints polish in Go Van Gogh! Handmade painted with the brushes they came with was how I did each color. Had to clean the sides a bit but that was it. First try so I can only get better with practice! :)

CND me finally!
After a very long wait I finally had the guts to do a mani sammich as some calls it. Basically you apply a color then add a fun glitter on top them layer on another coat of color and repeat to your liking. I've been dying to us Trust Fund Baby so I had to try it out. I love this subtle but fun mani. I used Cheeky its a creamy off white. Recently broke a few nails so sorry for the nubs but this is too fun to not share. It's my first sandwich polish mani but I doubt it's my last!

Favoring a brand? Tried CND yet?!
Never caught myself "favoring" a brand but apparently I do. Today I went to my local supplier to browse with my sister before she had to work... man oh man this was a trap! We were checking out OPI & Essie's new colors out and oldies we wanted. Whatevs right? Yeah all was well till we found the mark down stickers! I was reading the OPI bottles names, they are genius, when "Mim" says "Mel I found your fav brand!!". Of course I sprint over to the next aisle. Ahhh CND products I was lusting for!! Last year CND came out with a 2011 fall/winter set but the 3PC set was tough to swallow at the time so I never got it. It went on sale earlier this year but I was still "eh no I can buy so many items for that amount.", again I passed up on it. Now I am thrilled I stood my ground I now own The Look set by CND and it cost me a whole $7.25! Ahh you can't say that was not a steal. I never thought I'd own this awesome set....ever. This set comes with Sheer 24K Sparkle Effect, Midnight Sapphire, and Dark Amethyst! Just beautiful. I also snagged Pink Wishes by CND it came with Pink Wishes polish and Pink Wishes Pearl Effect. I'm nearly out of nude colors so I grabbed CND's Buff and Cheeky! Lastly I got me a big bottle of CHI Australian Oil, I have puffy coarse hair and oils help tame it. I'm ridiculously excited over this mini haul as you can tell :) eek onwards to some designs soon but here are some pics of my lovely buy for now.

Lollipop from Urban Outfitters
This light formula is a creme pink base with tons of round glitters. The formula looked clumpy on the brush but went on easily. I think it looka clumpy only because these glitters aren't settled, a plus! My nails look so fun now! (sigh) I want to try an indie polish now!!
*ring finger & pinky have only one coat.

Seche Ultra-V... hold up? Not really..
Ugh my hopes were set too high for Seche Ultra-V . Chips fast, yellows over whites or light colors, and the weird smell stays but isn't as bothersome as the yellowing. I like that it dries multi layers of polish but THAT'S it.
