Material Girl Polish... Why!!

Two twists and "crack" as I watch pieces fly. I was only able to retrieve one piece that flew off. I had high hopes for this brand Macy's carried but now I know why they sold their inventory to TJ Maxx. They were originally $7 for an 11 mL bottle. After the ordeal of trying to open the polish I went to Macy's website to see if they carry this brand any more.... not surprised they only carry Material Girl brand of clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories. Good move I'd say. Well off the quality of the cap. The polish (Midnight) dries fast but streaky. I applied two coats no top. This blue suits the name Midnight, its close to a royal blue and glimmers a bit in light. I will use this polish with upcoming looks :). Harlequin will be posted on its own compared to another polish. ;)

Ulta Sale :) January 2013 (trip 1)

Screen shot coupons accepted, pretty rad! This trip I scored a Minx for hands & feet, fun-cut false lashes, and a new NYX jumbo pencil in Milk. I was sort of not liking the fact of Minx selling to non-pros but then again applying is all up to skills so happy I got a set for under $4.99! My total was under $10 with the 20% off this coupon was good on sale and clearance too! I'm taking another trip soon too bad other polish addicts already Swyped the shelves for most polish, was really hoping to score a Layla.

OPI DS Opulence

Ahhhh! I love this polish. It's a mauve like pink with fine glitter. I really love how heavy and sturdy the brush feels with the silver cap. This is two coats no filtered pic. OPI formulas amaze me. Non gritty finish too!

Glitter with no base... Oww I'm daring.

Hey y'all! Well today was sort of a lack-of-luster kind of day so I wanted a glitter mani in hopes of a pick-me-up. Here I used no base (crunch on time) I laid my Sation in For Better or Never. This color is a watermelon pink sheer color with holo and blue octagon shaped glitters with small holo round glitters. Application was easy not clumpy at all. I've been fortunate to keep landing fast drying glitter polishes. I did an accent nail on my index finger, I used Sinful colors in Nail Junkie. This color is a teal jelly base with iridescent small round glitters and various shades of teal plays off the small and round holos in there too. I finished off with OPI Top Coat, love it. When I type I smile so mission accomplish!

Nailtini-Bloody Mary natural light

Natural light & pic of the brush that some how escaped my last post.

Nailtini-Bloody Mary

Here is a swatch of my Nailtini in Bloody Mary. Two coats, no base nor top coat. This is a creme red to me. It applies easily, even, and smooth. This red is not bright its more in the  darker side, which I love, I was expecting a hint of orange. My Essie reds seem to be like that but I'm loving this nailtini. The brush is longer but neat, no frays, with a squared cut I really love the brush good quality.

Clarins wash Day 1

Start off with cold water. Wash your soft bristle facial brush, apply the cleanser on the clean brush head. Wet your entire face. Dab product from brush head on cheeks, forehead, and chin. Scrub! Rinse with cold water. Pat dry then take a cotton pad sprinkle Toning lotion on then swipe but don't reswipe. Air dry and woohoo awesome smooth no dry spots or tight feeling. I love the clean light fragrant of these products also. Day 1 and im already loving it.

Face wash woes

As we age we become our worst critics. I'm very hard on myself about my skin. From puberty to my late 20s I've always used Clean and Clear products. Well ol' faithful is not working like before. My husband had gotten tired of my whining so he said "invest in good face stuff...come on.", and he paid for it so I was like hey win win!! Macy's had an awesome sale so I got myself Clarins awesome deal. In a netted baggy there are two products, Gentle Foaming Cleanser w/ cottonseed and Toning Lotion alcohol free w/ Iris. These products are for normal or combination skin and made in France. For the two products it came to $21. Before we left I had to make a Sephora stop, thank goodness I did, got a facial brush to use with cleansers to exfoliate for $1!! So for $22 I'm off too a smoother & healthier  looking face? Total deal, I mean for the drugstore products I'm already spending $12-18 so for a few bucks more why not? I feel so grown, lol. Today is day one of use so by the weekend I will give you an update. But before you assume department store products are pricey, seriously, check it out and you may surprise yourself.

Reverse manicure

Zoya in Natty and Sally Hansen lustre shine in Lava. This is one of my favorite manicures. I will do black and white next time around.

Rainbow fish inspired manicure

Sick in bed so I am being fed comfort food and watching cartoons. Always during these times I track back to my childhood. Growing up one of my all time love was a book called The Rainbow Fish. Today I was inspired by the little fish from the book so to my canvases I went! I couldn't locate any of my holo polishes at the moment so I used my recent gifts for this look. Avon nailpro in fuchsia, decadence, and lagoon. I also used a Finger Paints polish in Go Van Gogh! Handmade painted with the brushes they came with was how I did each color. Had to clean the sides a bit but that was it. First try so I can only get better with practice! :)

Naked but strong!

So many people like to say "Are those fake?!", as they grab my hands to check out my nails. The answer is "No". I can't rock extensions, trust me I've tried, they just don't stay on. I'm a bit rough on my nails. I like to blame it on good genes the awesome health of my nails. But what I do may also be helping. I take gummy vitamins daily, wash my hands often with good old soap and water, I file my nails twice a week, and I cut my nails down monthly. I maintain my cuticles  biweekly, I use Burt's Bees Cuticle treatment every other day. Even though I love nail polish and nail art I go naked at least 3-5 days a month. My toes though stay painted. How often do you go naked and how do you maintain nice nails?

Hand Creme

Burt's Bees products have always been a hit with me, especially lip stuff. Well their hand treatments are new to me! Wish I had known about them sooner. I'm here to boast about the almond milk hand creme. I can't stop smelling the scent, sort of reminds me of Jergens cherry almond smell lotion, smells awesome! I've been looking for hand stuff for awhile, I shook a man's hand at a junkyard and he had softer hands than mine's so it was a blow to my ego for real. Well this creme works awesome. Its not greasy, fast absorbing, and a creamy base. A huge plus is it's all natural so I don't feel so horrible when I do forget and touch my face. I've been using this creme for almost a week and I can't seem to put it down. Repeat buy for sure. This 2.0 oz jar retails for just under $9 in stores. I was lucky though and found it in an after the holiday gift set for $7.49 which had 3 items and this was one of the items in the set.
